Client Spending to Grow 1.2% in 2011 – New BTI Research

All signs point to stabilization of the legal market.

After some disappointing setbacks, the legal market is poised to grow in 2011. This directional shift joins anticipated spending increases in such strongholds as M&A, Class Actions and Labor and Employment. It signals the return of better times.

Yet the expected rise in client spending is modest. At 1.2%, it falls far short of law firms’ projected rate increases (which range from 5% to 8%, on average). This leaves law firms with only one choice: to grow at the expense of competitors.

Welcome to a Predator’s Paradise. The hunt is on.
