The Mad Clientist

A Pebble, a Boulder and a Pile of Feathers

Growth in today’s stagnant market demands new thinking, integrated efforts—and, perhaps, a wholly novel approach to relating to clients. Picture the tranquility of a pond of thick, oozy mud. Toss in a small gray pebble and you will see it enveloped immediately, its tiny impression disappearing completely in a moment’s time.

Now picture that still surface shaken by a giant boulder. The impact is greater. The impression longer. Yet, eventually, that too slowly dissipates.

Finally, envision that same mass of viscous brown blanketed by a layer of down feathers. Or besieged by a barrage of porous sponges. Changes the equation, doesn’t it?

Creativity, innovation and precise, systematic approaches, particularly those implemented firm-wide, will far outweigh the splash created by a single, individual action, no matter how large. As today’s law firm leaders, you have the power to redefine how your team competes and pave the way for short- and long-term growth.
