Sarah is a member of Dentons’ Real Estate practice group and is based in Kansas City, Missouri. Her practice focuses on sophisticated commercial real estate lending and she represents both foreign and domestic financial institutions, including real estate investment trusts (REITs), commercial banks, mortgage lenders, and life insurance companies. Sarah has extensive experience representing financial institutions in connection with construction and acquisition financing, syndicated loans, bridge loans, mezzanine loans, and commercial mortgage-backed securities loans across a wide range of assets. Sarah works with lenders, borrowers, title companies and tenants to negotiate and close real estate transactions involving hotel, retail, office, industrial, self-storage, manufactured homes and multi-family properties.

Additionally, Sarah has a broad range of knowledge and experience with ground leases, franchise agreements, interest rate caps and swaps, and condominium regimes. Sarah also adapts her transactions to accommodate complex borrower structures, including tenants-in-common, 1031 exchanges, multi-property and multi-borrower structures. She is skilled in all phases of a transaction, including complex negotiations, due diligence and closings. She also frequently represents agent banks in syndicated loans and in dealing with the co-lenders not only during the syndication process, but also during the term of the loan. Sarah also represents participating banks and prospective co-lenders who seek to join existing bank groups.
