With more than 30 years of experience in class actions, multijurisdictional matters, and complex commercial litigation, Jeff Jones has defended clients against damage claims of $1 billion or more. Jeff has litigated in more than 35 states throughout the United States and served as national or regional coordinating counsel in matters involving securities claims, automotive and supplier disputes, franchise and distribution litigation, contract terminations, alleged product failures, and class actions filed against many of Jones Day’s clients.
Jeff has tried more than 40 cases to courts, juries, arbitration panels, administrative law judges, and administrative boards in different jurisdictions throughout the United States and has handled appellate proceedings through every level of state and federal courts. Jeff also has coordinated numerous internal company investigations for clients of the Firm, including investigations related to accounting matters, revenue recognition, and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and anticorruption issues, and assisted with training and compliance efforts arising out of these investigations. Jeff has taken and defended hundreds of depositions involving experts working in the fields of accounting, marketing, statistics, disease causation, epidemiology, toxicology, accident reconstruction, automotive design, mechanical engineering, biomechanics, and human factors.
