George Hooker is a Partner in the firm’s Miami office who co-manages the South Florida Property Group. His practice group focuses on the defense of first-party property insurance claims, including handling the litigation of numerous water, sinkhole, fire, SIU fraud and theft claims through trial. Additionally, George and the South Florida Property Group assist multiple carriers in many complex coverage matters, including conducting examinations under oath and preparing coverage opinions in both first-party and third-party claims. George also has extensive experience defending claims involving personal injuries, premises liability and wrongful death, as well as other general liability issues.
A native Floridian, originally from St. Petersburg, George obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Florida with a major in economics. Subsequently, he attended Stetson University College of Law and graduated cum laude in May 2009 and was the recipient of the Florida Constitutional Law Award and Victor O. Wehle Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy.During law school, George was a Senior Associate for the Stetson Law Review and the vice-president of the Phi Delta Phi legal honors fraternity. Additionally, he completed internships with the Honorable Judge Susan Bucklew in the Middle District of Florida and the Office of State Attorney General.
