David Fentin counsels clients with respect to the legal issues affecting Internet products and services, including e-commerce sites, mobile devices and applications, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, social media platforms, games consoles, virtual reality devices and platforms, ad networks, enterprise cloud services and electronic payment solutions (including bitcoin and other crypto-currencies).
David concentrates his practice on privacy and data security compliance, intellectual property licensing, contract law, marketing and advertising laws, electronic signature law and Internet intermediary liability.
David’s commercial agreement experience includes software licensing, app distribution agreements, cloud services including platform integrations, joint development, supply and manufacturing, ad network and analytics services and other technology business development initiatives.
His product counseling experience includes drafting consumer-facing terms and privacy policies, creating internal privacy and information security programs, and advising on issues relating to open-source software, online contract formation, privacy implications of products and services and international product roll-out strategies, which includes working through a network of local counsel to advise on global legal issues.
While working as an associate for Perkins Coie, David has served on secondment in-house for two different clients, assisting Twitter for five weeks as product counsel and working for six months as commercial counsel with Google [x] – Google’s research and development lab that is focused on next generation technologies.
