Peter Blenkinsop advises clients on regulatory compliance, focusing on two distinct but overlapping areas: (i) information privacy and data protection, and (ii) medical research.
Peter advises organizations on compliance with federal, state and international privacy laws. He works with clients to identify privacy risks and develop data management strategies. In his 20 years of counseling clients on data management and privacy governance, Peter has had the opportunity to work with organizations of all sizes and across many sectors, from small startups to some of the world’s largest corporations. Peter has been extensively involved in shaping privacy and data protection laws over this period, authoring dozens of responses to public consultations on new legislative and regulatory privacy proposals at the US federal and state levels, as well as in Europe and around the globe. Peter co-chairs the firm’s Privacy, Cybersecurity and Data Strategy Team.
Peter advises clients that sponsor or conduct medical research on regulatory compliance. He counsels life sciences companies on compliance with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) human subject protection regulations and supports drafting and negotiation of clinical trial agreements, informed consent forms and other research documents. Peter also assists in the management of several associations of pharmaceutical and medical device companies, including the International Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Privacy Consortium (IPMPC).
