Mara is a partner in the Labor & Employment Group in Reed Smith’s Los Angeles office. Mara is recognized as a preeminent expert in wage and hour class and representative action litigation in California. She has handled well over 100 class and representative wage and hour cases across California, representing employers both in state and federal court. Her cases involve cutting-edge legal issues many of which have resulted in the establishment of new authority in California. She represents many of the county’s largest multistate employers in cases alleging claims for overtime, minimum wage, meal and rest period, waiting time penalty and wage statement claims. Mara also leverages her wage and hour litigation experience to provide top line advice on wage and hour counseling matters that puts her clients in the best possible position to avoid or successfully defend against wage and hour litigation.

In addition to her wage and hour practice, Mara also has experience in single employment cases including suits alleging claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, defamation, and wrongful termination.
