Liz Washko is the managing shareholder of Ogletree Deakins and a shareholder in the firm’s Nashville office. While her primary focus is leading Ogletree Deakins, Liz continues to work with clients on managing and addressing employment-related legal issues, including related to proactive pay equity audits and analyses.
In her extensive experience as an employment lawyer, Liz has represented management in a wide variety of employment matters, at the agency level and in litigation. Liz has particular experience defending employers in FLSA collective actions, in pay discrimination cases (individual plaintiff and class/collective actions), and conducting proactive pay audits and pay equity analyses. Liz has served as lead counsel in jury trials in state and federal courts. In addition to her litigation practice, Liz has conducted training on employment issues, drafted and reviewed employment policies and agreements, and conducted harassment and other types of investigations for employers. Liz is a frequent speaker and writer on topics relating to all types of employment issues and works with clients on preventive strategies to avoid discrimination, retaliation and other employment claims. Liz has been practicing law since graduating from Rutgers School of Law in 1993. She joined Ogletree Deakins in 2000 and was elected to shareholder status in 2003.
