Catherine Krupka heads the energy regulatory team and co-heads the enforcement team for Eversheds Sutherland’s Energy group.

Catherine’s practice focuses on matters related to energy commodities and derivatives trading. Her clients include financial services companies, generators, energy marketers, competitive retail suppliers, asset managers, logistics companies, global energy and infrastructure owners, and large end users.

Catherine advises on a wide array of issues arising during the life of an energy company, including on business initiation (e.g., authorizations, permits, registration with exchanges and organized markets), ongoing operations (e.g., facility operations, new project implementation, regulatory compliance and surveillance, enforcement), business transactions (e.g., mergers, acquisitions, power purchase and sale agreements, and other trading), contested matters (e.g., between counterparties, with exchanges/market operators, and with regulators), and business exit (e.g., sale of a business, facility or book; insolvency). Catherine provides these services to companies trading physical and financial power, natural gas, renewables, and crude and refined products.
